Position                             :   Specialist, Permitting

Division                            :   Shanghai Disney Resort (SHDR)

Department                     :   Permitting, Record and Information Management

Location                            :   Shanghai

Job Purpose

The Specialist, Permitting position is responsible for the below functions:

  • Develop work plans based on the requests from internal LOBs, and apply for or renew all required licenses and permits for SHDR accordingly
  • Build and maintain the relationships with government authorities and relevant stakeholder entities to facilitate the coordination within SHDR from permitting perspective and efficient internal and external communication
  • Review and process complex permit applications and provide strategic advice on unique and complex permit submittals based on SHDR features

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply for, change and renew the relevant licenses and permits like business registration, food business permit, hygiene and commercial performance based on the internal operational needs of SHDR
  • Work closely with various LOBs to understand their needs, identify the challenges encountered and facilitate solutions by leveraging support and in-depth communication both internally and externally
  • Summarize work progress regularly and track the latest laws and regulations timely and deliver the related key information to the working teams of SHDR
  • Assist the Line Manager on the deck preparation for internal & external communication and leadership updates to facilitate the making of permitting strategies and working milestones and make sure the relevant licenses and permits are obtained as scheduled
  • Complete the archiving work of the licenses and permits obtained and related application submittals in the document archive system

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in English and/or Property Management, Project Management, Public Relations, or other related majors

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of related professional experience. Prior professional experience in service industries like hospitality, retail, food and beverage, show & entertainment or equivalent is preferred
  • 1+ year of operational permitting experience in business registration, food business permit, hygiene or commercial performance or related project development experience in Shanghai and mainland China
  • Experience working in a multinational corporate environment is a plus

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated strong written (for correspondence with stakeholders) and verbal (for presentations and conversations) communication skills in both mandarin and English
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proven experience managing the project process and related document records
  • Ability to work in a complex and diverse major business unit of a multinational corporate environment and to manage conflict and multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated background and knowledge in working with government authorities on licenses and permits applications
