Title:           Construction Manager Field Operation (Area Development)         

Department:  Construction Management

Reports to:        AD Construction Manager

GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The job holder is responsible for managing and supervising Area Development works during the whole project cycle for a project or multiple projects. He / she shall have strong landscape or municipal knowledge, background, and site supervision experience on projects.  He / she is required to liaise and monitor site progress, quality and safety; identify potential field problems, areas of risk and resolve the issues independently with minimal supervision from superior. He / she aims to achieve the mission of the department / project team to the day-to-day on site operations, builds and fosters strong working relationship with contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and all related stakeholders to make sure the deliverable is up to Company’s quality standard.  

CORE FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

GENERAL

• Participate in project strategy, procurement plan, and market intelligence before project tendering.
• Participate in the design & tendering stage and provide advice in respect to constructability and detailing.
• Participate in project master programme, provide advice in respect to construction sequence, logistic plan, and work durations.
• Participate in tender document preparation and prepare the PR&GR parts of area development.
• Pre-review contractor’s submittal including construction method statement, logistic plan, material and shop drawings.
• Review and approval construction method statement in system
• Organizing effective big room meeting to resolve design issues with internal and external project team.
• Check contractor’s reports and prepare CM weekly and monthly report.
• Co-ordinating and liaising closely between AD&E, general contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers on shop drawings & material submission / approval in a timely manner.
• Organizing and leading regular site meeting / walk with contractor and sub-contractors to monitor their progress, ensuring construction management is updated on all issues.
• Regular quality check sub-contractors are working with the latest and approved shop drawings, material, method statement and QA/QC plan.
• Managing the area development work within the schedule while meeting or exceeding quality standard.
• Recording and updating all Changes and report to Construction Manager with his endorsement prior the execution.
• Prepare BIM 360 for recording any defective works, irregularity against quality, safety and environmental issue.
• Manage the contractor and sub-contractors to rectify the punch list within the agreed period.

SAFETY CONTROL

• Ensure the contractors work in a safe manner. All the construction tools are in good conditions and properly use.
• Ensure contractors work according to the approved safety plan, follow all safety procedures, and risk assessments.
• Check the site condition and sign the PTW day to day.
• Join regular safety site walk and safety meeting and push contractor to correct and eliminate the risk in time.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• 10 Years job related experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction management of landscape or municipal works.
• Familiar with landscape or municipal engineering specifications, shop drawings and Bills of Quantities.
• Familiar with GB code & local standard of material, construction site safety and environmental legislation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, designer and sub-contractors to resolve critical design issues.
• Ability to mobilise and manage sub-contractors on safety, progress and quality control.  
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Fluent speaking and writing English and Chinese.
• Computer knowledge (AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc) is expected.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Degree or above in Landscape or Municipal Engineering or related majors.
• Minimum 10 years in construction management of Landscape or Municipal Engineering.
• Strong site management skill and experience in project construction.
